Ever tried partner yoga?

Yoga is a practice of bending and unwinding, a journey of learning to ebb and flow with your body, emotions, and mental state. It’s also a wonderful way to build a connection with another person, sometimes without even touching. The first time my husband and I attended a yoga class together, the woman at the front counter exclaimed, “It’s so great to see you practicing together! We don’t get a lot of couples!” Later, after a few classes, the yoga teacher expressed her happiness at seeing us holding hands in savasana. What neither of us noticed was the gentle poking throughout class as I attempted to guide my husband, a beginner yogi, into the right positions. As time went on, I focused more on my own practice, but this shared experience built a connection that strengthened our relationship both on and off the mat.

Partner yoga takes that connection-building to the next level. It allows you to find rest and connection with your partner, fostering a relationship where stress reduction, understanding, and communication thrive. Partner yoga deepens trust and brings laughter. You can synchronize your breathing or elevate the experience with attempts at balancing poses. It’s a way to offer support for your partner, meeting them wherever they are.
