Having discovered her practice over twenty years ago, Barb immersed herself more deeply in 2010. Wanting to learn not only the postures but also the true lineage, philosophy, traditions, and ancient teachings, her desire for information grew.
Aside from Hatha, Barb also holds certifications in Yin and Trauma-Informed Yoga. She is also a certified Sound Therapist, so you can expect her to play her Tibetan singing bowls, crystal chalice, tuning forks, koshi chimes, and gong in class. Her classes have a sweet warm-up followed by a soft flow sequence and usually include poetry, guided imagery, meditation, and yoga nidra before savasana.
In addition to Sound Therapy and yoga, Barb is also a certified End of Life Doula. She and her husband have relocated to Waynesville from Austin, where she taught at Flow Yoga. She’s also a proud mom of three grown kiddos and a grandma (“Bibi”) to Madelyn and Asher. In her spare time, she loves gardening, perusing bookstores, making herbal and essential oil remedies, traveling, enjoying animals, live music, and discovering WNC with her husband, John.
Barb’s philosophy is: Yoga is for every single person of every background, gender, size, and age. It doesn’t matter when you start your practice; it only matters that you begin. Join her as your guide to find your own personal practice.
