Lisa grew up in Dunedin, FL. She went to Florida State University and majored in Physical Education Sports Medicine. In 1992, she moved to Atlanta, GA to live with her college roommate after graduation. She worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for many years and had 3 children. Lisa has always loved working out and has always been a gym rat. She never considered yoga until the unthinkable happened in 2017 when her middle child at the age of 18 passed away. For health reasons, she discovered yoga. Yoga helped her bring her blood pressure down and she was able to avoid medication. She loved yoga so much that she took the teacher training and became 200RYT in 2019. In 2020, she decided to try bodybuilding and realized how much yoga had helped her with her training. She completed her 300RYT in 2021. She is certified in Yin, Nidra, Bioenergetic Healing, and Barre.
Lisa moved to Maggie Valley in October, 2021 and absolutely loves the mountains. She likes to tell her story so that others will realize the importance of yoga and how much it helps the mind, body, and spirit. She fully believes that yoga saved her life and wants others to experience a “New Love” in yoga like she did. She encourages students to keep working on their practice, whether it be yoga for your mind, body, or both, as you never know where yoga will take you. We are all strong. We are all worthy. We are all warriors.
